Annual Sausage Supper ( with full menu) sponsored by the men of St. Peters’s Lutheran Church will be held on Sunday, February 12th in the St. Peter Lutheran School Gym. Serving begins

 at 5:00 p.m. All you can eat!

 

The Altamont Circuit Bible Bowl is Sunday, March 11th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont. Jr. High {grades 7-8] and a Sr. High [ grades 9-12] division, with either three or four

 members on a team. A fifth member can be an alternate. The CID Bible Bowl will take place on Sunday, March 25th at Lutheran High School in Springfield. The topic for this year will be

 the Book of Apostles.

 

The Youth are also planning the Annual Valentines Spaghetti Supper which will be held on Saturday, February 11th . A list of donations needed will be posted in the narthex in the near future.

 

Youth meetings will resume on Wednesday the 18th. We will meet EVERY Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. from now until after Bible Bowl. We are going to make this a PIZZA NITE. Any one

 wishing to donate pizza’s would be greatly appreciated. Also this Wednesday planning our HIGHER THINGS YOUTH CONFERENCE PARENTS NEED TO MEET WITH ME AT THE

 YOUTH MEETING Wednesday to discuss this trip. Parents looking for information regarding this conference can find it at www.higherthings.org. This conference this year will be held in

 Maryville MO. July 3rd to 6th . Deadline for us to sign up is February 1st. Only CONFIRMED or those that will be confirmed by then may attend.

 

 

CID President Bueltmann and Dave Rohe are planning at trip to the Luther sites around Wittenberg Germany from May 3-12, 2012. The estimated cost is $2,300 and includes air fare, hotels,

 charter coach in Germany, two meals each day and entries into most attractions. If you are interested, please contact Dave Rohe at 1-217-793-1802 or e-mail at drohe@cidlcms.org We will ask

 for firm commitments in mid December.

 

I have Good News for you” is the title of Pastor’s adult information class meeting Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. This class is open to anyone who would like to know more about The God

 who loves them or who would like to review the chief doctrines of the Christian faith.

 

ALIS News:


 

Everyone is invited!! The ALIS 18th Annual Dinner Auction will be held on Sunday, February 19th in the ALIS gym. A catered meal from Deb’s Catering of Fried Chicken, Smoked Ham,

 Beef & Noodles, Corn, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy & Salad will be served from 4-6 p.m. Desserts will be provided by the Cookie Jar from Altamont. The live and silent auction

 will begin at 6:30 p.m. kicking off with a “Specialty Pie/ Dessert Auction” made by the ALIS staff. Auctioneering the event will be Trent Schmid and Doug Stuckemeyer. Baby sitting will be

 provided for children 2 yrs. Up to 6th grade. The LYF members from the four churches will be asked to help.

Ticket prices are: Adult $8.00; 3 yrs-8th grade $6.00 two and under are free. Tickets are available from any ALIS student or the school office. All tickets must be purchased in advance.

 The last day to purchase your tickets will be Wednesday, February 15th. Alysia & Lantz Wills or Leigh Ann & Jeremy Ruffner will also have tickets available.

Anyone wishing to donate an item for the auction can take it to the school as early as possible so they can be displayed for several days prior to the auction. These items can be brought to

 the school during regular school hours. If you will be bringing your item the day of the auction please call Karen Whit (618-292-3451 in advance to have it listed in the program.

 

 

After School Care program at Immanuel Lutheran Parish Hall

A total of 96 children are enrolled. In the after school program. Volunteers are needed if you would like to volunteer. Please give the church office a call in advance if you can volunteer.

 We also are always accepting donations of all kinds. Whether it be snacks, drink mixes, paper good, activities for the children or monetary donations, We thank you for your generosity.

 

Plastic Bag Change: Walmart can only send plastic shopping bags to their recycler. They will not take our bags if they include plastic wrappers of any kind of shrink wrap. So please only

 send in plastic shopping bags (any color is fine, except black.)
 

S & W supermarket HY-Top (store brand) will give our school $50.00 for every 1,000 UPC labels turned in. Save the UPC bar code from all HY-Top products and put them in the

 container outside the school office. Along with the Boxtop and Campbell labels. Thank you for your help.

 

Pastor Vail is requesting the names, addresses and e-mail address if applicable , of all members and members spouses that are in the military. Pastor would also like the names and addresses of

 all students that are in college if living at home or living at college. Please email the names and addresses to bethlehem@altamont.net or give to Pastor Vail at church.

 

Reservations to schedule use of the Parish Hall needs to be made by calling the church office, to check the dates of reunions, weddings, wedding anniversaries, confirmations, etc.

 Reservations need to be scheduled by calling the office 618-483-6756 during office hours and leave a message, if no answer, and your call will be returned.


 

The Mission Outreach of the church is unable to ship recycled religious material at this time. Temporarily the Portals of Prayer is the only religious material

 that we can collect to recycle.
