Here is what's going on at Bethlehem Lutheran Wednesday–March 10th – Chapel service at A.L.I.S-8:20 a.m.; Jr. Confirmation -5:00-6:00 p.m.; Soup supper 6:00 p.m.; Lenten Worship -7:30 p.m.; Choir practice after worship service. Thursday–March 11th – LWML meeting and Quilt making 6:30 p.m. Sunday– March 14th -Divine Service 9:00 a.m. Sunday School and Bible Class 10:15 a.m. Pastor Vail’s radio program KJ country FM 102.3- 8:00a.m.
Please return your Mite boxes to the large mite box in the narthex by March 28th so our mites will be counted by the year end March 31st. Mite boxes have changed in color and design over the years, but what has never changed is the dedication of freely given offerings for the purpose of reaching out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Districts still retain 75% of mite offerings for the work of the LWML at that level. National mites fund over $1 million in mission grants.
Spring Rally Altamont Zone Lutheran Laymen’s League will be held on Monday, March 29th at 6:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church south of Altamont. The speaker for the evening will be Norbert Soltwedel who will tell about mission work in Uganda. The Cost of tickets $8.00. The Easter season is approaching and it is time to order Easter Lilies and other Spring plants. Blossom Paradise will give us a 15% discount if they are ordered by Sunday, March 21st. Camp Cilca information: Chuck Johnson, Camp Cilca Director: –new summer program online at www.cilc.org. Registration for all camp sessions is available. See information on Camp CILCA’s Men’s Retreat (March 5-7) or our Women’s Scrapbooking Retreat on March 19-21. Immanuel, Altamont is chartering a bus to attend: “The Promise” at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL on Fri. March 12th . The bus will leave Altamont at 5:15pm to arrive in time for the 7 p.m. performance. Even though admission is free, cost of the bus is $13 per person. Adults of any age, youth groups, and families are all welcome. This specific performance includes a free youth group pizza night at intermission. Reservations can be made by phone to 618-483-6495 or emailed to vspilker@frontiernet.net. Payment in advance is requested.
Pastor Vail is requesting the names, addresses and e-mail address if applicable , of all members and members spouses that are in the military. Pastor would also like the names and addresses of all students that are in college if living at home or living at college. Please email the names and addresses to bethlehem@altamont.net or give to Pastor Vail at church.
Reservations to schedule use of the Parish Hall needs to be made by calling the church office, to check the dates of reunions, weddings, wedding anniversaries, confirmations, etc. Reservations need to be scheduled by calling the office 618-483-6756 during office hours and leave a message, if no answer, and your call will be returned.
The Mission Outreach of the church is unable to ship recycled religious material at this time. Temporarily the Portals of Prayer is the only religious material that we can collect to recycle.
